About Us

Our Mission Statement

The TRAXX experience is all about making travel a pleasure again.

It’s about clean and comfortable motor coaches, attention to detail and putting our customers first. TRAXX offers spacious interiors, large windows, state-of-the-art entertainment systems and professional, experienced and courteous drivers ready to take the stress out of travel.

Our customers and their safety and comfort are our number one priority. And we take great pride in knowing that so many of our customers return to travel with TRAXX time and time again.

The First 75 Years

TRAXX got its start as Redcliff Bus Lines in 1932, when it was founded as a taxi service between Redcliff and Medicine Hat. From there, the company expanded first as a contractor to Dominion Glass to transport workers, and then as a charter service. In 1947 RBL began its proud history as a school bus operator, with routes taking students from Redcliff to Medicine Hat.

In 1968 the company took over bus operations for Cypress School Division #4, a 20-bus rural school bus service, which it operated for eight years. The Catholic School District in Medicine Hat was added in 1969.

Fifteen years later, in 1984, Tot-em Transportation began operations, with RBL creating the company to operate school buses for Medicine Hat’s Public School District #76. The two companies merged in 1988.

By 1993, the company was again expanding, this time into motor coach and charter operations. It began with local charters, and grew to include coordinating transportation with large Calgary, Banff and Vancouver bus companies during the summer. By 1997, Tot-em was working directly with tour companies and had two new coaches growing since then to a present day fleet of 43!

New Corporate Identity

In October of 2004, the owners sold their interest in Tot-em Transportation to The Monarch Corporation of Medicine Hat, Alberta. With the expansion to new regions and offices in Calgary, Vancouver and the US Pacific Northwest, there were trademark and brand conflicts with the Tot-em name and the new trade name TRAXX Coachlines was chosen.

Into the Future

Our goal is to see TRAXX continue to expand and grow while maintaining a level of customer service and comfort second-to-none. We look first and foremost to our fantastic employees to provide top notch customer care. And to help them, TRAXX has embraced the latest technologies, including software that coordinates everything from maintenance schedules to dispatching across our growing network of TRAXX offices.

As well, TRAXX uses VOIP technology which allows callers to any office to be transferred automatically to any other office in our system and that means our customers get the right person, in the right place, every time.

As of June 2010 TRAXX Coachlines became one of the first Accredited Canada-China Inbound Tour Operators to serve the transportation needs and tour solutions throughout Western Canada.

TRAXX is a company that likes to ‘think outside the box’. No job is too small or too great. We are adaptable, reliable and always negotiable. Want to find out more? Contact us today.
