Word Junior Championships 2012

On last January 4, 2012, we had the opportunity to enjoy the service of your company Traxx Coachlines in Calgary during the Word Junior Championships 2012.

On behalf of all my colleagues, I would like to extend our sincere thank you to your exceptional driver Don Bury. Everybody was quite impressed with his determination and kindness to offer help to one of our member who ran off the road and fortunately experienced no major injuries.

Don’s service was beyond the call of duties and his kindness was really appreciated by all of us during our trip to Lake Louise and Banff on last January 4, 2012. We want to share with your company our experience with Don and recognize the excellence of his service.

Even with an important delay in our schedule, his caring and dedication during that time made this day memorable and made everyone feel safe and sound.

Again, we wish to thank Don and thank you for giving all of us the opportunity to meet a great individual like Don Bury.

Jean Brousseau, Chairman of the Board of the Québec Major Junior Hockey League

World Junior Hockey

Mr Penner My name is Alax Whittleton and I was a team host for team Sweden during the WJC in Calgary and Edmonton. Our bus driver was Roy Taylor and on behalf of Team Sweden players, coaches, managers, trainers and the other team host, Pat Loyer, I would just like to say that Roy did a fantastic job with our team travel needs. He was always very friendly, accommodating and mostly very punctually. During an event such as this, getting personal to and from different locations on time is paramount to their success. I would like to say thank you to Traxx and to Roy Taylor for a job well done. Sincerely

Alax Whittleton, Host for team Sweden

2011 Heritage Classic
Montreal Canadiens vs Calgary Flames

I just would like to say a very big heartfelt thank you to all of you for working so hard last week in the cold temperatures to ensure the success of this NHL program. It was wonderful meeting a lot of you and for those of you that I have worked with before, it was great to see you again. It is always a pleasure to see the success of a program, and it could not have been done without all of you and for that I am grateful. Joe Fitzgerald from the NHL was very happy with the way things turned out.

Greg, a big thank you to the Traxx drivers who kept the shuttles moving, even though there were only one or two on board half the time. But they just kept on moving them. So much for environmentally friendly, but this is what they asked for.

I cannot thank you and Spence enough for your support all week, it was pretty crazy on Sunday but it was a beautiful thing. Let’s do this again some time.

I look forward to working with all of you again.

Flora Fioritti-Irwin, Encore Event & Destination Management

We have high expectations for our coach partners and TRAXX comes through. Obviously we require our transportation partners to meet a high standard of safety which TRAXX meets and exceeds. In addition, we look for a high level of customer satisfaction. This is an area where I can say without a doubt that TRAXX exceeds our expectations.

Pam Hoffee, Globus Tours

TRAXX Transportation has always provided good buses and courteous drivers with an emphasis on safety as a top priority in their operating practices.

Bernie Gerardin, Medicine hat Catholic Board of Education

TRAXX Coachlines has provided a regular scheduled service transporting Flint employees from Calgary, Red Deer and Edmonton to the Opti Nexen project at the Long lake site near Anzac Alberta. During this time TRAXX has provided a reliable and safe service given the volume of miles traveled and the weather and road conditions that they have had to deal with. I highly recommend their service and would welcome any queries that you may have.

Mark Angus, Flint Infrastructure Services

Does your group have any special needs that must be met?

1.Does your group have any special needs that must be met?

Things like the need for video, microphone, AM/FM/CD, wheel chair accessibility or other special equipment.

2.Clearly spell out your schedule and what is involved, in detail.

Be sure the company knows what hours the driver must be available to the group.

3.Ask how long the company has been in business.

Find out when the company was established, and how long it has been offering charter coach services. A good track record is always desirable.

4.What is the Company’s DOT rating?

A satisfactory rating is standard. Never charter from a company with an unsatisfactory rating.

5.Ask for references

Request and contact references from similar type groups traveling on similar type programs. Never charter from a company unwilling to provide references.

6.Ask how many coaches are in the fleet.

Overall charter fleet size is important. It provides a gauge to the operator’s ability to supply alternate vehicles in the event of a mechanical problem, on multi-motorcoach movements, or on weekends and during peak seasons. It also provides some insight into success of the company.

7.Request a Certificate of Insurance.

Your carrier should supply a letter or certificate of insurance. This letter/certificate shows the carrier’s level of insurance and effective policy dates. Accepted levels of insurance call for a minimum of $5 million for combined single limit liability.

8.Is the Company adhering to Department of Transportation driver regulations?

Make sure the company is compliant with Canadian and U.S. Federal Hours of Service. If your itinerary requires more than the limit, ask how the charter company is going to handle it.

9.Ask the company’s procedures for on the road emergencies.

The operator should have access to a nationwide reciprocal maintenance agreement which will assure you of prompt servicing of equipment in all regions that the carrier travels.

10.What is the average age of the equipment operated?

Vehicles that are 10 years or older, unless properly maintained on a preventative maintenance program, can have a greatly diminished reliability factor. Generally, the newer the motorcoach, the fewer the breakdowns.

11.Are video equipped motorcoaches available?

Video-equipped coaches can be a genuine asset. You can view educational videos or provide movies to help pass the hours.

12.Does the company have a drug screening program in place?

Ensure your carrier has a written drug policy and drug testing program. Never charter from a carrier that does not strongly enforce a drug-free workplace.

13.Who is responsible for extra mileage costs above the contracted amount?

Find out the carrier’s policy before the trip, not when you get the bill.

14.Is the carrier a full service company?

Do they have their own maintenance facilities? Can they provide vehicles to meet special needs?
